Hamden Economic Development Corporation

Funding Sources

The Hamden Economic Development Corporation (HEDC), through Executive Director Dale Kroop’s responsibilities with the Town Department of Economic and Community Development, has been fortunate to be able to utilize several funding sources to complete redevelopment work consistent with the mission of the HEDC.

HEDC Funding Sources Include:

  • Federal EPA Programs: For the Goodrich / Daisy Project, the HEDC secured two revolving fund clean-up grants as well as a grant from the Emergency Clean-Up Superfund.
  • CT Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD): Brownfield redevelopment in Hamden has been made possible through project funding from DECD.
  • Rex Development: Environmental site assessments for petroleum-based contaminants and other hazardous substances have been made possible through low-interest loans.
  • EDA Investment Programs: Funding through the Public Works Program allowed for the building of Gallagher Road, which in turn allowed Hamden to expand its business park by four additional lots.
