Centerville Lumber Site Redevelopment Takes Shape

After years of planning, the redevelopment of the former Centerville Lumber Site will begin in 2016. The property was recently sold to Jordan Properties for $1.8 Million. Steven Press from Press Cuozzo Commercial Realtors of Hamden represented the buyers and sellers.

“We are extremely pleased to see this project progress. It was among the most valuable opportunities in the Hamden real estate market. The final plan makes a lot of sense in terms of density and the impact on the surrounding properties. Steve Press did a great job finding the right developer”, stated Dale Kroop, Director of Economic and Community Development.

There are three different parts to the redevelopment of the site.

  • The former Centerville Lumber Building will be turned into a Physical Therapy Center.

  • The “multi-tenant” building in the front, (formerly included Brandman’s Paint and a Deli) will be turned into a casual dining, Italian Restaurant by the owners of Café Bravo in New Haven. There will be significant improvements to the building including landscaping and lighting.

“It is a homerun to have such quality restaurateurs locate in Hamden, the food at Café Bravo is excellent”, continued Kroop.

  • A 100+ room hotel will be built in the rear area of the property where there are current vacant barns and land. The Hotel Brand will be named later this year.

Each individual project will be located on its own parcel.
