Workforce Readiness

A well-trained workforce is a critical factor for potential employers considering where to locate their business. Workers must be able to meet the changing demands of businesses. To meet the market demand, we offer program development and grant assistance in Workforce Readiness, an essential element in creating a vibrant, thriving community.

We Collaborate with the Community in Developing Workforce Readiness Programs

Examples of this collaboration include:

  • Workforce Clusters, which advocate action on work readiness issues for workers, and are comprised of many partners locally and within the region. The Workforce Clusters promote the expansion of affordable childcare, transportation, job skills resources, and programs that incorporate people with disabilities into the workplace.
  • Seeking to expand and improve employment opportunities for residents within the context of the long-range Economic Development Plan and specifically workforce development. Towns can partner with area agencies such as the Department of Social Services, Department of Labor, Workforce Alliance, and various area colleges and training programs to better serve those seeking employment.

This commitment to Workforce Readiness reflects our dedication to customer service for businesses locating or considering locating to the region.
